A petition has been launched to help get a statue of Jamie Vardy erected outside the King Power Stadium.
The 28-year-old's goalscoring form this season has been a key part of helping Leicester City to ascend to the top of the Premier League table.
The creators of the petition, betting site PredictTheSix.com, have pledged to donate £10,000 towards the cost of the statue if it attracts 1,500 signatures.
The petition's mission statement reads: "We want to ensure that Jamie Vardy's record breaking accomplishments don't go unnoticed for generations to come and we're worried that without a huge, bronze statue of someone so influential outside his home, this may become the case.
"Due to this, we are committed to putting £10,000 towards a statue of Jamie Vardy outside the King Power Stadium if this receives enough signatures.
"We urge Leicester City Football Club, with your backing, to stump up the rest of the money and erect one of the most prized statues of the modern footballing era."
Vardy is also being honoured with his own rags-to-riches movie by Hollywood film studio Warner Bros.
