Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly been summoned to appear in a Luxembourg court after being sued for £1.4m in an image rights dispute.
The 26-year-old is said to have struck a deal with a company called Image Rights in the principality to help set up the KHDB firm, which was allegedly used to legally avoid paying taxes on his off-field earnings.
De Bruyne may now face the distraction of a court case as, according to The Sun, Image Rights boss Fabrice Louette and other shareholders are owed money.
As a collective, Image Rights feel they are owed £1.4m as the Belgium international never terminated his contract with them when swapping Wolfsburg for Man City in 2015.
As well as the £1.4m payment, De Bruyne is also being asked to hand over a daily penalty of £4,400 for non-payment.
