Investigation launched after Wayne Rooney's Twitter account hacked?

Wayne Rooney's camp are reportedly certain that the Manchester United captain's Twitter account was hacked following the 'favourite' controversy over ex-prositute tweets.

The Twitter account of Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney was reportedly hacked as tweets relating to former prostitute Helen Wood were placed in the footballer's 'favourite' list.

The 29-year-old is alleged to have had a threesome with Wood and her friend Jenny Thompson back in 2010 while Rooney's wife Coleen was five months pregnant with their first child Kai.

Over the weekend, the forward's account hit 'favourite' on a tweet, which included two photos of Wood posing in her underwear and the message: "Could I have you as a present under my tree @Helen_Wood86 x"

According to the Daily Star, Rooney's camp are certain that the sportsman's social media account was hacked and an investigation has been launched.

The controversy did not appear to distract the striker on the pitch last night as he scored twice in England's 3-1 win over Scotland at Celtic Park.
