Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has reportedly stepped up his proposed takeover of Manchester United by tempting the club's owners with a £3.8bn offer.
The Glazer family are currently in charge of the Red Devils but are believed to be willing to cash in if the right amount is offered.
United chiefs have spent an increasing amount of time in Saudi Arabia in recent months and, according to The Sun, the Crown Prince is keen to strike a deal before the end of the year.
The report indicates that his previous advances were scuppered due to a diplomatic row surrounding the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, but negotiations may now resume.
Should the Glazers cash in, they would make a £2.2bn profit as they paid £790m to purchase the English giants in 2005.
However, it is claimed that the club's valuation may plummet should they fail to reach next season's Champions League, with United currently occupying the fourth and final qualification spot.
