Manchester United have "asked for CCTV footage from Southampton" to help identify the supporters found singing a controversial song about striker Romelu Lukaku at St Mary's Stadium.
The Belgium international urged fans "to move on" from repeating the chant, which anti-discrimination group Kick It Out suggested was "offensive and discriminatory" due to its racial undertones.
A certain section of away supporters could be heard repeating the lyrics during the 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday afternoon, however, forcing the Red Devils to take action against those involved.
"The club and the player have been clear in asking for an end to the chant," a statement read. "The club is in discussion with the police and has asked for CCTV footage from Southampton."
The 'MUFC Songs and Chants' supporter group vowed earlier this week to continue singing the chant, which suggests that Lukaku has "a 24-inch penis".
