The brother of Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has reportedly escaped a prison term for stealing a mobile phone and causing criminal damage.
Croydon Magistrates' Court heard that the 31-year-old stole a BlackBerry phone from a man in a Boots shop before destroying a Police Code of Practice pamphlet when taken to the station following his arrest on March 22.
It is understood that instead of a jail sentence, Serge was hit with a nine-month community order that will be supervised, according to the The Mirror.
Zaha, who is 11 years younger than his brother, will begin his first season playing for United this weekend following his transfer from Crystal Palace.
