Retired footballer David Beckham is reportedly behind the recent decrease in razor blade sales, which are said to be down 1.6% over the last year.
The 38-year-old, who is known for his image, has been sporting stubble since retiring from football at the end of a five-month stint with Paris Saint-Germain.
It has been claimed by trade magazine The Grocer that Beckham and the likes of folk band Mumford & Sons are encouraging men to refrain from shaving due to their rugged looks, according to The Metro.
Since walking away from football earlier this summer, Beckham has been linked with a new career in the film industry, but reports have claimed that the ex-Manchester United star is close to setting up a MLS franchise.
