Italy World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro has reportedly been handed a 10-month prison sentence for failing to stay away from his property that was seized by the authorities.
In October last year, authorities in Naples seized goods owned by Cannavaro and his wife worth around £730,000 as part of an investigation into tax evasion.
According to The Guardian, Cannavaro, who captained Italy to World Cup triumph in 2006, refused to keep out of his property, which has resulted in a custodial sentence. His wife Daniela Arenoso and brother Paolo have also been sentenced.
Reports have claimed that all three have appealed the court's ruling, resulting in the sentences being suspended.
