Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis has admitted that she felt "embarrassed" to read E. L. James's erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The 26-year-old says that she could only read half of the second book in the trilogy.
"When I got back, my mum asked to read them and she's read all three, but I was embarrassed," Ennis told the Daily Mail.
"I kept folding it over so no-one could see what I was reading."
The Sheffield-born athlete added that she found the books "quite raunchy".
Ennis has been shortlisted for this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
