British Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis is rebranded "Ennis the Menace" in a special edition of The Beano.

British Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis will appear in a special edition of The Beano as "Ennis the Menace".

The 26-year-old heptathlete, who clinched the top honour at the London Games, will be immortalised on the cover of the infamous comic in her Team GB outfit.

The former world champion has been depicted throwing tomatoes at Dennis, shouting: "You're no match for Ennis the Menace! I've got a gold in pulling pranks!"

The Beano and BeanoMax editor-in-chief Mike Stirling said: "Our special golden cover couldn't have anyone else other than Ennis the Menace on it.

"Just when Jess thought her summer couldn't get any better, we've given her the ultimate accolade - being immortalised in The Beano.

"Gnasher's got in on the Olympic act too, with his tribute to Usain Bolt's 'Lightning Bolt', although he calls it the Gnash-Flash. We also show readers how to have their own 'Menace Heptathlon' in this week's issue but even our own Dennis can't compete with Ennis."

Other Team GB athletes including Andy Murray and Sir Chris Hoy are also mentioned in the special edition, which is due to be released tomorrow.
