Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has won an apology from a Twitter troll who had stated that his father would cause damage to his new house.
Twitter user @DaleHawkins17, who has since deleted his account, sent a tweet to Barton claiming: "my dad working on your new house! Gunna piss all up your walls! #takecare."
Barton responded by tweeting that he had investigated the statement, before adding the following message regarding possible ramifications for the troll after he had acknowledged that he had found his address on the social media site.
If someone was as cruel to send stuff to @DaleHawkins17 now 'he's famous' wonder what it'd be? Any ideas use #sendshittodale

The tweet resulted in Hawkins closing his account, before Barton later revealed that he had received an apology from his family, who had contacted Queens Park Rangers' head of media and communications.
After contemplating posting the apology to his 2.47m followers, Barton concluded the exchange by tweeting: "For his sake I shall not and I shall remove the picture of his address. But in future if your gonna troll someone, think thrice!!!".
