New Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is reportedly close to signing a new sponsorship deal with global sports brand Adidas.

The 24-year-old has been associated with Adidas since he was 16 years of age, but the brand are believed to be keen to tie down the Welshman on fresh terms following his switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Adidas were said to be considering whether or not to commit to the player while he was out of Champions League football and unlikely to reach the World Cup, but since he completed a reported £85m switch to Madrid, Adidas plan to offer him a new contract, according to the Daily Mail.

The brand, who produce Real Madrid's kit, will offer an extension to Bale's boot deal and personal sponsorship.
