Tottenham Hotspur launch investigation into stadium parachute intrusion

Tottenham Hotspur confirm that an incident in which an intruder parachuted into their new stadium off the roof is being investigated.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that an investigation is underway after an intruder parachuted into their new stadium.

The incident was captured on film by cameras which stream live pictures of the site to the club website.

Fans watching the live feed from inside the new 62,062-seater stadium spotted the intruder appearing to jump from the newly-constructed roof of the building before parachuting down into the base of the arena.

"We are aware of an incident that took place last night that involved a breach in construction security and this is being investigated by Mace, our stadium construction partners," a club spokesman told football.london.

The first test event at the new stadium is set to take place on August 5, with a series of test events scaling up in size before the official opening day on September 15, with Tottenham hosting Liverpool in the Premier League.
