The BBC are reportedly poised to sign up soon-to-be-retired striker Michael Owen for next season's sports coverage.
The 33-year-old is due to hang up his boots at the end of the season following his stint at Stoke City.
While Owen has claimed that he is undecided on whether he will move into management, it appears that a career in TV punditry is on the cards.
While the BBC are keen to make Owen a TV and radio pundit, BT Sport are thought to have been put off by the forward's 'monotone' displays on Match Of The Day, according to the Daily Mail.
Owen played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Manchester United throughout his career.
