Former Sunderland midfielder Adam Johnson made his alleged female victim out "to be a liar" following a sexual encounter, a court has heard.
Johnson is on trial at Bradford Crown Court over two counts of sexual activity with a child, which the sportsman denies.
Last week, the recently-sacked footballer pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and a further count of grooming.
On Monday, the girl, who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged incident, told the court that she felt "compelled" to perform a sex act on Johnson in his car as a thank you for signing two Sunderland shirts for her.
Appearing via video link, the girl told the jury that she initially wanted to "protect" Johnson by not mentioning the seriousness of some of the activity between the pair.
When asked by Johnson's counsel Orlando Pownall QC if she was still trying to protect the footballer, the girl told the court: "No, because he did nothing to protect me and he made me out to be a liar."
The alleged victim was tearful during the questioning.
