Allegations published by The Telegraph have caused the Premier League club to launch their own probe into the process.

The English Football League allegedly received a forged bank letter when Gino Pozzo took sole control of the Hornets from his father Giampaolo two years ago.

City of London Police have received the relevant documents from The Telegraph and will assess the information in due course, according to Sky Sports News.

Anyone found guilty of fraud could face up to seven years in prison.
