Canada's Nick Taylor produces a rousing comeback to edge out Charley Hoffman to win the WM Phoenix Open.

Nick Taylor has won his fourth PGA Tour title with a dramatic victory at the WM Phoenix Open.

Although the Canadian commenced the tournament with an opening-round 60, he trailed during the closing stages as Charley Hoffman moved to the brink of the win.

However, Taylor made birdie at the 15th, 16th and 18th holes, with Hoffman only recording pars on his final three holes and missing a putt from just inside 22 feet to lift the trophy.

In the resulting playoff, both players made birdie on the first extra hole, before Hoffman's tee shot finding the bunker on the second gave the advantage to Taylor.

Hoffman could only make par, missing an opportunity from just over 28 feet, before he watched Taylor sink a putt from 11 feet five inches to add another title to his collection.

Taylor now advances up to 28th spot in the World Golf Rankings, while Hoffman has the consolation of rising from 300th to 108th as he bids to get his career back on track.

The pair finished three shots clear of world number one Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, with Sahith Theegala completing the top five.

Jordan Spieth and Maverick McNealy shared sixth position, and Matthew Fitzpatrick was the best of the English contingent with a 15th-placed finish.
