Prop Jamie Peacock decides to end his England career in order to prioritise his time with the Leeds Rhinos.

England captain and Leeds Rhinos prop Jamie Peacock has announced his retirement from international rugby league.

The 34-year-old has admitted that he felt it was the right time to leave the national side in order to prolong his club career.

"To play and captain your country is the highest honour and this was a decision that was not taken lightly," said Peacock. "I felt that the time would be right for me to step down and solely concentrate on playing for my club.

"In 2000, when I made my debut, it was beyond my wildest ambition and dreams that I would then go on to represent my country nearly 50 times and captain them for seven years."

Peacock, who has competed for England in the last 12 years, recently put pen to paper on a fresh two-year deal with Leeds.
