Former French international Sebastien Chabal has been released from his Racing Metro contract with immediate effect.
The Top 14 club confirmed via their website last night that contract negotiations had stalled, meaning that Chabal would leave the club "by mutual agreement" after failing to see eye-to-eye with president Jacky Lorenzetti on the club's "playing strategy".
Chabal, who can play lock or number eight, won 62 caps for France and scored 30 points.
The 34-year-old has started just six Top 14 games for Racing Metro this season.
