Great Britain's Gemma Spofforth books a place in the women's 100m backstroke final at London 2012.

Great Britain's Gemma Spofforth has booked a place in the women's 100m backstroke final at London 2012.

The 24-year old made the last eight with a finish time of 59.70s, securing third place in her semi-final and sixth overall.

Australia's Emily Seebohm was the fastest during the semis, completing the race in 58.39s, with United States sensation Missy Franklin following on 59.12s.

Spofforth's compatriot Georgia Davies came in eighth in the first semi with a finish time of 1:00.56.

The women's women's 100m backstroke final takes place tomorrow evening (July 30).
