Ihar Boki of Belarus has smashed the world record in the pool at the Aquatics Centre during the heat of the men's S13 200m individual medley.
The Paralympian, who is in the partially sighted category, placed his name in the record books with a time of 2:09.89 and is now favourite to claim a gold medal for his country at 18 years of age.
Boki's biggest competition heading into tonight's final is 17-year-old Roman Dubovoy of Russia, who set a new Paralympic record just minutes before his Belarusian opponent.
Boki will pick up his fifth gold if he wins the final this evening.
