Great Britain's Hannah Miley betters her time, but fails to reach the 200m butterfly final at the World Championships in Kazan.

Great Britain's Hannah Miley improved on her time but failed to qualify for the final of the 200m butterfly at the World Championships in Kazan today.

The Scot, who was placed in lane one, managed to stay on the shoulder of the leading pack in the first 100m, but she fell back in the final stretch to finish eighth in 2:09.21.

The first semi-final was a tight contest, but USA duo Katie McLaughlin and Cammile Adams finished first and second respectively.

Japan's Hoshi Natsumi qualified as the fastest swimmer in the field in a time of 2:06.36.
