Victoria Azarenka ousts Dinah Pfizenmaier in straight sets

Victoria Azarenka eases into the third round of the French Open following a 6-1 6-0 win over Dinah Pfizenmaier in Paris.

Victoria Azarenka has continued her pursuit of the French Open title by defeating Dinah Pfizenmaier 6-1 6-1.

The world number one breezed through the early stages of the contest as the inexperienced Pfizenmaier struggled to find her feet and failed to enforce any sort of threat on the Belarusian.

Azarenka remained composed and executed a host of powerful and precise forehand shots that enabled her to grab the advantage and take a one-set lead in Paris.

The German professional continued to stumble on the clay court as the number one seed dominated and launched into a 3-0 lead in the second set.

Azarenka stepped up a gear to swiftly see off her competitor and clinch a straight-sets victory to reach the third round of the tournament.
