Dan Evans has reached the second round of the Knoxville Challenger with victory over American Mitchell Krueger.
The British number three is the defending champion at the second-tier event in the United States and he has moved a step nearer to another title with a 6-2 6-3 win.
The 26-year-old secured two breaks of serve during the opening set and although Krueger enjoyed some success against the Birmingham-based player in the second, he was unable to prevent Evans from claiming what turned out to be a routine triumph.
Evans will face either Liam Broady or Canada's Peter Polansky in the last 16.
