Roger Federer comes through an early setback to reach round two of Dubai Tennis Championships at the expense of Malek Jaziri.

Defending champion Roger Federer overturned a one-set deficit to reach round two of the Dubai Tennis Championships this afternoon.

A shock appeared to be on the cards when the former world number one lost the opening set 7-5 to Malek Jaziri of Tunisia.

The next two sets went the way of Federer though as he dropped just two games on his way to wrapping up a 5-7 6-0 6-2 success.

Federer, 31, will now face either Albert Montanes or Marcel Granollers for a spot in the next round.
