Andy Murray anticipates tough opener against Mikhail Kukushkin

Third seed Andy Murray predicts that world number 58 Mikhail Kukushkin will provide tough opposition in the first round of Wimbledon.

Andy Murray has admitted that he will need to play well to progress past Mikhail Kukushkin in his opening match at Wimbledon.

Murray is bidding to secure his second title at SW19 after winning at Queen's last weekend, but the third seed has insisted that he must take a professional approach against his opponent, who sits at number 58 in the world rankings.

The 28-year-old is quoted by PA as saying: "He's a good player, he's had some big tournaments in the past. I think he played Rafa pretty close last year so he can play well on the grass.

"He plays predominately from the baseline but he's a good ball striker and if you give him time to dictate the points, he's a tough guy to beat."

Murray has been placed in the same half of the draw as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
