Agnieszka Radwanska has defeated Karolina Pliskova in straight sets to progress into the semi-final stage of the WTA Finals in Singapore.
The world number three, who edged out Garbine Muguruza on Wednesday to keep her hopes alive, came out on top 7-5 6-3 this afternoon in a straight shootout for a place in the last four.
Radwanska lost serve in the fifth game of the contest but soon recovered to break Pliskova on two occasions, getting over the line in the opener after taking her second set point.
A tight start to the second set followed, with Pliskova edging a prolonged second game to grab a foothold in the match, but Radwanska took four games in succession to see out the contest in straight sets and remain on track for success in the end-of-season tournament.
Muguruza had earlier beaten Svetlana Kuznetsova in the other White Group clash, but it was not enough to help her through as she finished bottom of the standings after three matches.
