Evangelos Doudesis relishing Netherlands' water polo clash with Greece

Netherlands assistant women's water polo coach Evangelos Doudesis suggests that he is looking forward to facing his home country when they play Greece at the European Games.

Netherlands assistant women's water polo coach Evangelos Doudesis has suggested that he is relishing the prospect of coming up against his home country when they take on Greece on Saturday.

Doudesis previously won a bronze while playing for Greece in the 2006 World Water Polo League, but is now operating as an assistant for the Dutch side at the 2015 European Games in Baku.

"It will be a special game," said Doudesis, according to the official Baku 2015 website.

"It will be strange to hear my national anthem without representing my country, but after that, it's going to be a game like others. I will help the staff to get ready for this game.

"This game will be tough, a very good test to check where we are because in my opinion Greece is the big favourite to win gold in this competition."

Greece have long been considered one of the strong favourites to win gold in Baku.
