Nicholas Buckland targets 2018 success

Team GB ice dancer Nicholas Buckland says that he and Penny Coomes are already planning for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Nicholas Buckland has said that he aims to be competitive at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in four years' time.

Buckland and partner Penny Coomes finished 10th in the ice dance competition yesterday at their second Games.

The 24-year-old told Team GB's official website: "There is a lot to learn and that is why I didn't come in and say I wanted to medal because I know we have got skills to perfect.

"We have got to show ourselves as top contenders and we have got to mature and take our skating to a new level. I feel we are competitive now and that is just going to carry on for the next four years."

The duo improved by 10 places in Sochi, following their 20th-placed finish in Vancouver in 2010.
