Team GB's Rowan Cheshire "disappointed" to miss out on event

Rowan Cheshire reveals that she is "disappointed and sad" to miss out on representing Team GB in the ladies' half-pipe event after being ruled out earlier this week.

Great Britain skier Rowan Cheshire has revealed that she feels "disappointed and sad" to have missed out on today's ladies' half-pipe event.

The 18-year-old was ruled out earlier this week following a crash during training which left her unconscious.

"I am feeling better than I was but I am still a bit disappointed and sad," Cheshire told BBC Sport ahead of this evening's final at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park. "My head is still not right, but I am getting there. I don't remember anything of what happened. I just remember waking up in hospital.

"I have watched it and it is brutal. I looked like a rag doll and it is a bit scary. I cant remember it so it feels as though it wasn't me. I have had falls before but this is the worse one I have had.

"I need to do the tests to make sure everything is fine. I am happy for the girls who have made it here. I made it here which is something I am proud about."

Team GB's Emma Lonsdale failed to qualify for the final.
