United States skier Ted Ligety has expressed his frustration with the difficulty of the course at Sochi after failing to complete his second run in the men's slalom.
Ligety wasn't the only one, with half of the top-10 finishers from the first run not completing their second at the Winter Olympic Games.
Ligety told the US ski team's official website: "Not all the best guys had the chance to make it down, unfortunately, but it is what it is.
"I would have liked to have done better, and I put myself in a position to have a chance.
"This course was difficult and it was a battle of attrition."
Mario Matt of Austria won gold in the event on Saturday.
