Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks at the latest injury and suspension news for Arsenal ahead of Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Bournemouth.

After reclaiming a place in the top four of the Premier League at the weekend, Arsenal will now be aiming to tighten their grip on a Champions League spot when they play host to Bournemouth on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners' 2-0 win over Southampton, combined with Manchester United only claiming a point from their game against Liverpool, leaves Unai Emery's side with their European destiny in their own hands.

With Southampton ticked off and Tottenham Hotspur still to come later this week, Emery may decide to rotate his side for the midweek visit of Bournemouth.

Here, Sports Mole looks at Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their encounter with the Cherries.

ARSENAL'S INJURY LIST

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: February 27

The experienced full-back was handed a start against Southampton but left the field with an injury. Speaking after the match, Emery revealed that the issue to Lichtsteiner's lower back is unlikely to keep him out for any length of time.

Alex Iwobi

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 27

Iwobi also limped off the field against Southampton but, like Lichtsteiner, Emery does not expect the winger to miss Wednesday's meeting with Bournemouth.

Possible return date: February 27

Maitland-Niles missed out on selection against Southampton because of illness, but he is expected to be back in contention in time for Wednesday's match with another south coast side in Bournemouth.
