Half-Time Report: Monaco, Caen fail to break deadlock at Stade Louis II

Monaco and Caen fail to strike in the first half of their Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Louis II.

Nothing can separate AS Monaco and Caen as the two sides have reached the half-time break goalless in their Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Louis II.

Monaco, who are unbeaten against second-placed Caen in their last 13 home matches, were under the cosh in the first two minutes of the match as Ronny Rodelin directed a header towards goal, but Danijel Subasic was able to make the save.

The game was more even as the half went on as both sides had opportunities to create a goalscoring opportunity, with Monaco's Fabio Coentrao and Bernardo Silva sending decent crosses into the box.

Caen needed to rely on their defence when Fabinho managed to get a shot on target from the edge of the box, but Remy Vercoutre was able to block the shot and keep the scoreline goalless.

Mario Pasalic tried to make things happen for the hosts as he unleashed a right-footed shot at goal, but his effort grazed over the crossbar.

Minutes later, Vincent Bessat came close to breaking the deadlock when he positioned himself on the edge of the box before sending a drive towards goal, but Subasic got there in time to make the block.
