Former Italy international Gianluca Zambrotta takes charge of Swiss second-division side

2006 World Cup winner Gianluca Zambrotta, 36, takes charge of Swiss second-division side FC Chiasso.

Former Italy international right-back Gianluca Zambrotta has taken charge of Swiss second-division side FC Chiasso.

The 36-year-old, who played for Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan at the peak of his career, has been given first-team coaching duties of the club which lies right at the Southern tip of Switzerland at the border with Italy.

Zambrotta takes over with Chiasso currently joint-bottom of Switzerland's second-tier Challenge League.

The 2006 World Cup winner played his last game for Milan in May 2012 before joining Chiasso this summer as a player-coach.
