UEFA suggests that it would be unable to block Neymar's proposed world-record move from Barcelona to PSG on financial fair play grounds.

UEFA has confirmed that it has not received any formal complaints regarding Neymar's proposed world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Barcelona attacker has asked to leave Camp Nou in order to join the Ligue 1 runners-up, but Barca will demand the Brazilian's €222m (£198.6m) release clause to be paid up front and in full.

La Liga president Javier Tebas revealed that the league will attempt to block the move due to concerns over financial fair play, but UEFA suggested that it would be unable to impose any immediate sanctions on PSG.

"We have not received complaints from anyone regarding this matter. All clubs in Europe must respect financial fair-play rules and must demonstrate that they do not have losses of more than €30m over three years. As part of the continuous monitoring of clubs under financial fair play regulations, UEFA will look into the details of this transfer in due course to ensure PSG are compliant with FFP requirements," read a statement from UEFA.

"The transfer of Neymar to PSG will have an effect on the club finances over several years but the impact of such an operation cannot be judged in advance, notably as PSG could well sell several players for a significant amount. We shall therefore only make calculations at the end and make sure that they respect the rules."

Neymar has scored 105 goals in 186 appearances for Barcelona, helping the club to eight trophies along the way.
