Martin Atkinson will referee Saturday lunchtime's Premier League clash between arch rivals Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.

Martin Atkinson has been appointed as the referee to oversee Saturday's Premier League showdown between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.

The arch rivals go head to head with United seven points above their competitors in second place, while the Merseyside outfit reside seventh.

Jose Mourinho's team are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions, but Liverpool have only managed to clinch one win in their last seven outings.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the man in the middle at Anfield will be Atkinson, who has officiated three clashes between the rivals, all of which have been won by United.

The Bradford-born official has already overseen the Red Devils this season, having refereed the team's 4-0 rout over West Ham United on the opening day of the campaign.
