Rory Best: 'We will take positives from Wales draw'

Ireland skipper Rory Best admits that he and his side have mixed feelings having let slip a 13-point advantage before eventually drawing 16-16 with Wales in the Six Nations.

Ireland captain Rory Best has revealed that his side are content with their 16-16 draw with Wales in their opening match of the 2016 Six Nations.

The home team held a 13-0 lead after 28 minutes, only to see their opponents edge ahead before a late penalty from Johnny Sexton ensured that the spoils would be shared in Dublin.

Speaking to ITV, the 33-year-old said: "A draw is a hard result to put into words. We're happy we didn't lose the game. After going behind for the first time with six minutes or so remaining, we showed great character to come back and get the draw. That's the positive and we have a lot of work-ons to work on.

"We wanted to start well, because with the way Wales defend it is a hard task to get back on top of them if they go ahead. When we got the ball in the opening half-hour, we looked dangerous so it was pleasing. To let them find a way back is a bit disappointing."

Next Saturday, Ireland travel to Paris to play France, before Wales host Scotland at the Millennium Stadium.
