Half-Time Report: Carolina Panthers ahead at the break

The Carolina Panthers lead the New York Jets 16-6 at half time in the sides' NFL clash.

The Carolina Panthers are leading the New York Jets 16-6 at half time in the NFL.

The Panthers took an early three-point lead after Graham Gano completed a 59-yard field goal to set Carolina on their way, before Nick Folk kicked his own 54-yard goal to bring the score to 3-3.

The second quarter produced exactly the same results as the first. Gano kicked the Panthers back in front from 22 yards out, while Folk again responded with a field goal of his own from 33 yards to level proceedings at 6-6.

The Panthers were then put back in front with the contest's first touchdown, as Deangelo Williams retrieved an impressive 72-yard pass from Cam Newton to help take his side's score to 13.

Gano returned nearing the end of the quarter to kick a further three points from 40 yards out, leaving the score at 16-6 going into half time.
