Detroit Lions come from behind to beat Chicago Bears

The Detroit Lions come from behind to beat the Chicago Bears 20-14 at Soldier Field.

The Detroit Lions had to come from behind to secure a 20-14 win over NFC North rivals the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field this evening.

The Lions took the lead in the first quarter when Matthew Stafford handed the ball off to Reggie Bush, leaving the running back to sprint over from 21 yards out.

The quarterback struggled as he looked to extend the visitors' lead, though, being intercepted by Brock Vereen and Ryan Mundy while trying to find the endzone.

The missed opportunities left the Bears just a touchdown back heading towards the end of the half, but Jimmy Clausen, who replaced Jay Cutler at starting quarterback for Chicago this week, completed a short pass to Matt Forte to level the scores just before the break.

The Bears continued to show promise at the start of the third quarter, and took the lead for the first time when Clausen connected with Alshon Jeffery at the back of the endzone for the home side's second touchdown.

Matt Prater reduced the lead with a field goal, but missed the chance to cut the deficit further at the start of the fourth quarter when his 37-yard attempt was blocked.

Detroit soon got another chance though, and regained the lead when Joique Bell sprinted 41 yards down the sideline to add the visitors' second touchdown of the game, while another Prater field goal sealed the win shortly after.

The win means that the Lions will face the Green Bay Packers for the NFC North title in the final week of the regular season next weekend.
