Cleveland Browns linebacker Jabaal Sheard has expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond when his current deal expires.
The 25-year-old is entering the last year of his rookie contract after being drafted in the second round of the 2011 Draft by the club, and will earn under $1m (£596,000) for his exploits in the 2014 season.
"Hopefully it works out. Love it here, want to be here when [the] city erupts," Sheard told the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.
Sheard recorded 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Browns last season.
