The New England Patriots have acquired defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga in a trade deal from the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 32-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Chip Kelly's side who allowed him to move to New England in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick, while sending the player and a sixth rounder in the opposite direction.
Bill Belichick's side were in need of depth on their defensive line following injuries to Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly, and they have eased these concerns by adding the 10-year veteran.
The Patriots are 6-2 in their season after week eight.
