The San Francisco 49ers have released cornerback Chris Cook just before his second season with the team.
Cook joined the California-based side from the Minnesota Vikings, but he failed to start any games last year.
Despite a hamstring injury ending his campaign early, Cook was handed a one-year deal in March.
However, he has been cut before the new season starts and will now search for a new club.
Cook has started just 29 games in his five-year NFL season.
