Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has insisted that his side have not changed their offensive style from last season.

The Redskins have struggled in their opening two games to the current campaign, losing both that included a comprehensive 38-20 defeat at the hands of the Green Packers in their last outing.

The performances have raised questions over whether quarterback Robert Griffin III is the same player as he was before his knee injury, but Shanahan insists that his side have not shown their best in offense simply because they have not been given the chance yet.

"We have the ability to do everything we've done a year ago," ESPN quotes Shanahan as saying. "In the second half of our first two games we've gone to two minutes very quickly.

"The score was very obvious why we did. We'll let the season go on, and hopefully you guys will see some of the execution that you did last season."

The Redskins will look to claim their first win of the new season when they face the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
