Goldie Sayers will captain the Great Britain squad at this month's European Championships in Zurich.
The 32-year-old, who has won 11 national javelin titles, has suffered with injuries since she was forced to withdraw from the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
However, she has now recovered from those complaints and will lead her nation in Switzerland.
"Having had a fairly nightmarish past 18 months and not knowing whether I'd ever throw or compete again, getting back into the GB vest alone has been incredible. To say captaincy is an added bonus, is a massive understatement," she said.
Sayers first represented Team GB back in 1998.
