Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt has revealed that Kyrie Irving is "taking some steps forward" as he continues to recover from a knee injury.
The point guard suffered a fractured kneecap during the first game in last season's NBA Finals, forcing him to miss the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
Ahead of the team's 109-97 win over the Atlanta Hawks, Blatt told reporters: "He has advanced to running plays 5-on-0. He's doing some light 1-on-1 contact drills. He's certainly taking some steps forward.
"Again, can I put a number on it in terms of days left until we see him back out there fully? I really can't. I'm not trying to keep it from you. I just don't know. But definitely seeing progress in the last few days and that's encouraging."
The Cavaliers have made a 10-3 start to the season.
