Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Vince Carter has said that he is just trying to do his part for the team, following his game-winning contribution against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.
Carter came off the bench to score 18 points for the Mavericks, who were also helped out by an impressive performance from Dirk Nowitzki, who top-scored with 24 points for the visitors.
"[I'm] just trying to do my part. It's the second part of the season, so it's crunch time," he told reporters after the match.
"This is where you earn your money. I'm just trying to give our bench a lift and get us in the playoffs, where we feel like we should be."
The result sees Dallas sitting in third position in the Southwest Division with a record of 34-23 for the season.
