The Detroit Pistons have made the decision to sack head coach Maurice Cheeks, according to a report.
Cheeks took over the team only in June, but he has reportedly paid the price for a disappointing start to life in Detroit.
Pistons general manager Joe Dumars informed Cheeks of the decision on Sunday morning despite successive victories in the past couple of days, according to Yahoo Sport.
The franchise are yet to make an official announcement, but they are expected to confirm the decision over the next 24 hours.
Detroit currently sit in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 21-29 record.
