Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has been ruled out for at least two weeks after sustaining nerve root irritation in his back and hamstring.
The 39-year-old visited back specialist Dr Robert Watkins on Monday to assess the extent of the injury, and it has been confirmed that he will now be sidelined for the next fortnight at the very least.
Nash has since revealed that it was "slowly getting worse and worse", reports ESPN, and will now be re-evaluated in 10 days.
Coach Mike D'Antoni was forced to sit Nash during the 113-90 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
