Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks has confirmed that Kevin Durant will return from injury to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.
Durant has yet to feature this season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot in pre-season, and he underwent surgery which had been expected to keep him sidelined for up to eight weeks.
However, just over six weeks after the procedure Brooks announced on Tuesday morning that the reigning league MVP will play against New Orleans, The Oklahoman reports.
The Thunder have struggled in Durant's absence and they have fallen to a 5-12 start to the season, with point guard Russell Westbrook also sidelined by injury.
However, Brooks will be boosted by the return of his star duo as they look to make up the lost ground on their Western Conference rivals for a playoff spot.
