Trainer Rob McCracken has claimed that Carl Froch is unlikely to announce his retirement in the near future.
Froch has been linked with fights against Julio Chavez Jr and Bernard Hopkins, but there have also been suggestions that the 37-year-old could announce his retirement if he does not get the bout he wants at this stage of his career.
Despite claiming that Hopkins is "too long in the tooth" to meet Froch, McCracken believes that the four-time world champion will fight again.
"Ultimately Carl will make that decision," MCracken told Sky Sports News. "Retirement is an option, fighting Chavez is an option and fighting Hopkins is an option.
"Realistically there is plenty left in him and he could comfortably continue for another two or three years. And we'll find out shortly. He wants to box on and a fight with Chavez is at the forefront of his mind."
An elbow injury forced Froch to vacate his IBF super-middleweight title earlier this month, but he will put his WBA belt on the line in his next bout.
